1. Who we are
This site is operated by the Joan Kanini campaign for candidate for member of parliament, Githunguri Constituency, Kiambu County, ahead of the 2027 general election.
2. What we collect
If you submit a volunteer or contact form on this site, we collect the information you provide directly, such as your name, phone number, ward, and any message you include. We do not ask for or store payment details, national ID numbers, or other sensitive personal data through this site.
3. How we use it
Information submitted through this site is used solely to respond to your enquiry, coordinate volunteer activity, and share campaign updates you have opted into. We do not sell your data.
4. Lawful basis and retention
We will process registration details only for the purpose explained at the point of collection and on an appropriate lawful basis under Kenyan data-protection law. A retention period, deletion process, and verified privacy contact will be published before public registration opens. Until then, this site does not operate a campaign registration database.
5. Analytics
Analytics is disabled by default. If Vercel Analytics is enabled, it will report aggregate usage patterns without using advertising cookies. This notice will be updated before analytics is enabled.
6. Third-party processors
Form submissions may be processed by a third-party form service to deliver enquiries to the campaign team, and this site is hosted on Vercel. These providers process data on our behalf and are not authorised to use it for their own purposes.
7. Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you believe your data has been mishandled. 8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the campaign’s tools and processes evolve. The date of the most recent review will be reflected at the top of this page.
